Where the Magic Happens
(click an image below for full picture slide show)
Here’s where the magic happens! This historic home was built in 1875 by J.B. Fairchild (one of the founders of the town). And it’s on the Santa Fe Trail! Pretty magical.
Our Guest Suite
There’s room for one or two, and your own private bathroom. And your own private entrance from the deck.
Big enough for a group; comfy enough to stay a while.
Plenty of room to relax, gather, play, and stop and smell the flowers along the way.
This is a great multipurpose room for workshops, yoga classes, dinner groups, house concerts, and the list goes on.
Garden Produce, Bouquets, & Eats
We have 11 raised beds, 15 fruit trees, a butterfly garden, grape vines, and lots of other lovely plants. I love to make bouquets and produce baskets for gifts. And I love to put up food.
If you’re allergic to pets, you’ll be glad to know that the Guest Suite, Bunkhouse, and Wellness Center are pet-free zones. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats. They are well-behaved, sweet, and get along for the most part although Riley (grey cat) loves to chase Dixie (blonde cat). Sometimes she likes it. All are second-hand or rescue pets – the best kind in my opinion.
Overbrook is a great place to live. We have a city fishing lake, nature trail, and an 18-hole golf course. Plus a Casey’s and Dollar General. Oh we got excited when Dollar General came to town. And I got excited when they put in a Red Box! Small town gratitude. And we have Brookside, the best retirement home in Kansas.
My friend, Jerry Jost, from Lawrence, KS took these lovely pictures of the Kansas countryside. Beautiful. Thanks Jerry!
